About investing

What am I investing in? Are these real securities?

Absolutely. Mythic Markets only offers securities that are regulated by the U.S Securities & Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) to protect our investors. You can find additional information on the specific SEC regulations that we rely upon here.

Mythic Markets acquires, stores, maintains, and insures assets on behalf of shareholders.

How do I earn returns from my investment? Can I sell my shares?

Yes - our goal is to bring more liquidity to alternative asset investing! We’re developing a secondary market (coming late 2019) where you can sell your shares during monthly trading days, which are typically available a few months after an asset’s initial offering. Assets may also be liquidated in response to private offers or during peak market conditions. Proceeds from each asset would be distributed to shareholders proportional to their ownership in that asset. Check out your offering circulars for more information.

Important note: There is currently no public trading market for our Interests, and an active market may not develop or be sustained. There is no guarantee that appropriate regulatory approval to permit such secondary trading will ever be obtained. If an active public trading market for our securities does not develop or is not sustained, it may be difficult or impossible for you to resell your shares at any price. Even if a public market does develop, the market price could decline below the amount you paid for your shares.

Do I have to be an accredited investor?

Nope. If you’re unaccredited, you can legally invest as long as you invest no more than 10% of your income or net worth in each offering.

Do I have to be a U.S. Citizen to invest?

Currently, U.S. Citizens, U.S. Residents, and non-resident U.S. Citizens can invest on Mythic Markets. We do intend to expand internationally, so let us know where you’re located! You can also stay updated on future plans by subscribing to our newsletter.

Is this a blockchain or crypto thing?

No. Mythic Markets is an issuer of United States SEC-qualified securities. The platform is not built on blockchain and we do not issue crypto or tokens for our assets.

How is the share price determined?

A total of 2,000 shares are issued for each asset. During the initial offering period, share price is determined by the asset’s value divided by the total number of shares. Once trading begins, the price may change depending on bid/ask activity on Mythic Markets, and comparable sales of similar assets in the market.

How is an asset’s value determined?

Value is appraised using comparable sales data from auctions, private sales, and overall demand.

Is there a fee?

It’s free to invest on Mythic Markets during beta -- no transaction or administration fees. Thanks for being an early investor!

How many shares can I buy/own?

You can buy up to 10% of an asset (usually 200 shares) during the initial offering period. You can buy additional shares on future trading days, and may own up to 19.99% of the asset’s total available shares.

Okay, I invested. Now what?

When the offering closes, our broker dealer partner will transfer your shares and update the official master shareholder listing. Then there will be a lockup period (usually 90 days) where no buy or sell transactions can take place. We’ll notify you when the trading market opens for your shares.

About the assets

Who owns the collectible assets?

Mythic Collection, LLC (a subsidiary of Mythic Markets, Inc.) owns and manages the assets. Each asset is treated like a sub-company of the LLC. When you buy shares in an asset, you’re basically becoming a shareholder in one of these sub-companies.

How is the collection stored and maintained?

To make sure assets retain their value, Mythic Markets stores and maintains them on behalf of shareholders. The collectibles are fully insured and securely stored in temperature, light, and humidity-controlled vaults with 24-hour security. Paper-based assets are also “slabbed” in tamper-proof cases. We plan on making them viewable by the public in special exhibits or events.

Can I see the assets in person?

We’re working on it! Make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter for updates on future plans and events.

How are the collectible assets selected?

As a team of investors, collectors, and fans ourselves, we’re keen to select only the best for the collection. Some factors we consider include rarity, cultural significance, history, value, condition, size of the fandom, and future relevance.

How does Mythic Markets acquire assets?

We work with a network of private collectors, high-end stores, studios and game designers, and prominent brokers to acquire high-quality, high-demand assets.

How is the authenticity of assets verified?

Assets are authenticated by leading independent grading experts such as Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), Certified Guaranty Company (CGC), and Beckett Grading Services (BGS).

How is an asset’s value determined?

Value is appraised using comparable sales data from auctions, private sales, and overall demand.

Can I sell my collection on Mythic Markets?

We’re always on the lookout for high-demand, investment-grade assets. Please complete our short form and we will be in touch with more information.

What happens to my investment if Mythic Markets goes out of business?

The result would be similar to if any company went out of business. The assets would be sold at auction, and proceeds from each asset distributed to shareholders proportional to their ownership in that asset.
